What is E-Force For Caregivers?

E-Force is a training system based on the philosophy that…

Empathy
     Energy
           Experience
                  Empowerment
=Enlightened Performance

Designed for entry level and line staff, E-Force is unlike most trainings. It is intimate, interactive, and we work hard to get to the real life issues facing your workers to give them hands-on solutions they can put to work as soon as they leave the room.

The Community of Care initiative offers locally provided training for the direct care workforce.

  • It's fast (about 2 hours per module).
  • It's effective (employers report much better performance for those who participate).
  • It's efficient (we come to you!).
  • And, it’s inexpensive (let's talk).

The Community of Care began providing E-Force training as the result of a workforce development grant through the Oregon Office of Community Colleges and Workforce Development. This project proved so successful that we have been asked to deliver it wherever the need is presented and a provider will support it.

Call Doug Overlock at 541.910.3684 or e-mail dougo@chdinc.org for more information or to set up a training session for your employees.

The modules included in an E-Force training curriculum are presented in pairs. They can be taught as a unit or independently of each other, and include:

1.  Working in a team environment.
2.  Re-examining your crystal ball.
Did you know that as a care professional you are in one of the fastest growing career fields in the world? This is a fascinating time in health and residential care. Learn how to identify your strengths and skills. Discover how to maximize your skills and put yourself on a career path to new levels of success.

3.  Mental health “101”.
4.  Working with the mentally ill.
Caring for those who suffer with mental illness can be challenging. Come learn skills that will help you meet their needs in a caring and professional way.

5.  Creative care.
6.  Comfort measures for pain.
Creative caregiving is not just a job, it’s a joy, but when we see people in pain, we often feel helpless. Come learn techniques for maximizing their comfort levels. Find out how to work with the strengths of the people you care for.

7.  Diabetes “101”.
8.  Nutrition basics for diabetes care.
If you work in long-term care, you need to know about diabetes. We will help you learn what to look for, when to call for help, and give you a helpful “box of tools” to use.
