Morrow County is located at the base of the Blue Mountains, and has many nearby mountain recreation areas where you can take advantage of nature. Like many other places in Oregon, great hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and camping are available here. The Blue Mountain Byway allows a variety of scenery as well as many historical sites and recreation areas.

Wells Springs has the best preserved wagon ruts from the Oregon Trail days in the whole state and the Morrow County Museum boasts the largest and more comprehensive history of pioneer and homestead life in Eastern Oregon. The Blue Mountain Community College, shared with Umatilla County, has a great campus and educational system.
